Navigating the Doctoral Journey: A Handbook of Strategies for Success

James Edmund McCubbin

Abstract

With doctoral programs facing attrition rates of approximately fifty-percent, a great deal of research is currently being undertaken on the topic of doctoral student persistence.  Dr. Amanda J. Rockinson-Szapkiw and Dr. Lucinda S. Spaulding of Liberty University have brought together educators and researchers from around the globe to share their strategies for success for doctoral students in an effort to increase doctoral student persistence.  With the book covering topics ranging from the decisions that need to be made when selecting a school to how to obtain post-secondary employment, this book provides the reader with a well-structured and organized book that should be mandatory reading for every potential doctoral student.
